September 8th is the official release date we are hearing for Stone in South Carolina. I know a lot will be bottles, not sure of the draft situation. We sure have come a long way in 16 months. Here’s a recap of the breweries we have now in SC:

Bear Republic, New Holland, Weyerbacher, Victory, Avery, Allagash, Great Deivide, Ommegang, Stoudt’s, Boulder, Clipper City, Eel River, De Proef, Southampton, Lagunitas and I hear Founders, Smuttynose, and Ballast Point. I am sure I forgot some, but you get the point. A bunch of breweries and choices.

From the City Paper:

Bull Street Beer Tasting

If you haven’t dropped by and seen the sign on their door, you may not know that Bull Street Gourmet is having a $5 beer and wine tasting on Thursday, August 21 (yes, five dollars!).

Bull Street hosts the tastings every other Thursday to provide a place for people to sip some goodness and raise money for charity.

This month’s charity is the World Wildlife Foundation, the famed panda-logoed organization helping to protect endangered species. Five dollars covers the beer and the wine, the donations are up to you. —Alison Sher

Carolina’s Restaurant in downtown Charleston is having another beer dinner. Glad to see them doing that again.

Wednesday, August 27.

Heard they’ve got quite the tap line-up:

Weyerbacher Double Simcoe

Stoudt’s Pale

Lagunita’s Hairy Eyeball

COAST 32/50

I know there are a few more taps too, don’t know what they are. Very Nice.

A new bar out on Folly. I hear they have a few taps, decent bottled selection, unsure of the food situation- hear it’s from a neighboring deli? At some point they will be brewing their own beer too! Check it out. I might tomorrow.

Good to see a great restaurant doing their beer dinners again!

Thomas Creek Brewery has recently redesigned their logo, brand names and all packaging. The new six-packs are already hitting shelves. With this redesign, and the recent addition of a larger bottling line, Thomas Creek is also now bottling their “Class Five IPA” and “Pumphouse Porter. “

I recieved this in an email from the Speaker’s Office:
