Ok. SO it’s been a while for an update, I was trying to get all my ducks in a row. I still don’t know the answer to every aspect of the bill, but it’s a start.First, Rep. Herbkersman has sponsored our bill again. He sponsored it last time and is a BIG advocate of local and craft beer (his family owned a brewery in Columbia in the 90’s). HB 4675 deals mostly with a SC brewery having the ability to taste on premise and sell their beer in direct retail. If SC ever wants to be put on the map for craft beer, this HAS to happen. It truly is a win-win for breweries, wholesalers, retailers and the consumer- even if the wholesalers don’t see it that way–yet!
Now, there is a distillery bill that has already made it to the and it is addressing the same thing. If it passes, wineries and distilleries will have those rights (it also addresses the 3-tier system- which is huge).
This is what I need you to do:
1- Email or call Herbkersman SCHSDistrict118 (at) aol.com or herbkersmanb (at) schouse.org and thank him.
2-Start the calls and emails to the House- especially judiciary. If you get through that, start on the Senate.

More updates coming.
