Well, just looked at the calendar for today and I don not see our bill on the agenda. It is a light day with no new bills being introduced. Don’t know. Will check with Rep. Herbkersman and see what’s up.
Rep. Herbkersman said this morning that the bill is set to be introduced this coming Wednesday the 28th. A house calendar hasn’t been officially released yet. YEAH!
Barley’s Taproom in Greenville, South Carolina and Terrapin Beer Company of Athens, Georgia proudly present the First Freakin Firkin Friday.
Come and enjoy a cask ale of Terrapin Beer Company’s Rye Pale Ale that has been soaking in french vanilla oak wood chips and has been boosted by the addition of extra handfulls of fresh Columbus Hops.
Terrapin’s head brewer, Brian “Spike” Buckowski, will be present to answer questions about his masterful creation…
The firkin will be tapped upstairs at 6:00 p.m., and it will run until it is dry…

The latest update from Rep. Herbkersman was today. He thanked us first and then added “The bill is being finalized and I have talked with a few dozen folks to sign on and you all have done a wonderful job getting co-sponsors.”
He knows the lobbyist that is now working on this, which is good.
“A watched pot never boils ” is about how I feel. I am just so excited to get this going, the bill can’t get introduced fast enough.
I haven’t heard from Rep. Herbkersman in the last few days. He did receive our basket for research purposes- it gave a good representation of the beers we are talking about. Thanks to Josh Brewer and Alexis Chianis – A+ for presentation and delivery! I am REALLY hoping this thing happens this week! Who knew politics could take so long…..
We are looking into doing a more formal and serious Pop the Cap event here in Charleston in the beginning of March. Ideas?
Representative Bill Cotty came on as a Co-sponsor. You can send him a thank-you at (WFC@schouse.org)
I spoke with Representative Herbkersman 2 days ago. He said the bill was drafted and is waiting to be introduced, it will then be given a House Bill #. As soon as I know that info, I will send it along. Be ready.
